Tem communities in the Tchaoudjo prefecture brought the festivities of their traditional Adossa-Gadao festival to a fitting close this weekend. The celebrations, launched a few days earlier, were attended by a government delegation as well as local political and administrative authorities.
Placed under the theme of strengthening social cohesion between the region's inhabitants, the festivities offered a platform for reflection aimed at promoting Tchaoudjo both culturally and socio-economically. Yerima Agrégna, president of the 2025 organizing committee, stressed the importance of Adossa-Gadao as an essential vehicle for the values, beliefs, customs and traditions of the Tem community.
Representing the President of the Republic, Yark Damehame, Minister of State in charge of halieutic and animal resources and transhumance regulation, praised the commitment of local players to using culture as a lever for strengthening social cohesion. The event was punctuated by folk performances, including the famous knife dance, a symbol of Tem identity, and a tasting of traditional dishes.
