Between 2021 and 2024, the Wezou Program will have revolutionized maternal and child health in Togo, with 606,009 women cared for, over 600,000 prenatal consultations carried out and 357,758 births assisted.
This scheme, dedicated to protecting pregnant women and newborn babies, marked 2024 by extending its geographical coverage and significantly improving access to prenatal and obstetric services. These concerted efforts have contributed to a significant reduction in maternity-related risks, thereby strengthening public health indicators.
With its integrated approach, tailored to the needs of the local population, the Wezou program has become a model to follow in terms of health policy.
