Last Saturday, militants and sympathizers of the Union pour la République (UNIR) party based in France gathered at the Madeleine church, one of Paris' most emblematic places of worship, for a thanksgiving mass in honor of the President of the Council, Faure Gnassingbé.
The purpose of this sober but symbolically rich religious ceremony was to express collective gratitude to God for President Gnassingbé's leadership. In a fervent atmosphere, participants also prayed for peace, stability and social cohesion in Togo.
Among the guests were Louis-Atché Tinta, chargé d'Affaires from the Togo embassy in France, and Nicolas Babina, president of the UNIR France section. The latter praised the loyalty of diaspora activists and their commitment to the social project put forward by the head of government.
This spiritual initiative is part of a dynamic of mobilization in support of the Togolese government's political orientations, in a spirit of unity and patriotism. UNIR France thus confirms its ambition to strengthen Togo's influence abroad, and to intensify links between republican institutions and Togolese communities living in Europe.
