The President of the Republic, His Excellency Faure Essozimna Gnassingbé, proceeded on Tuesday August 20, 2024, on the proposal of the Prime Minister, and in accordance with the transitional provisions of the Constitution of May 6, 2024, to appoint a new government.
A number of new members have joined the government, including one of the most important: an influential member of the opposition. Koami Gomado, mayor of the commune of Golfe 1 (Bè) and influential member of the opposition Jean-Pierre Fabre's Alliance Nationale pour le Changement (ANC), joins the government with the portfolio of regional planning and 117 communes.
