The Togolese government takes another step towards modernizing agriculture. On June 2, 2025, the Ministry of Agriculture announced the deployment of tractors and agricultural accessories to all the country's prefectoral directorates.
This initiative is part of the national agricultural mechanization strategy, aimed at strengthening producers' capacities and improving yields.
The equipment will be made available to farmers on a fee-for-service basis, at a cost of 40,000 FCFA per hectare. They will be managed by the Agence de Transformation Agricole (ATA), in collaboration with the prefectural and regional departments, organized by zone to limit logistical costs.
This operation is in addition to previous efforts by the authorities, such as the training of producers in partnership with OCP Africa and the setting up of mechanization centers since 2023. It confirms Togo's commitment to more productive, sustainable and competitive agriculture.
