Faure Gnassingbé's Togo will benefit from 125 billion FCFA ($200 million) in financing from the World Bank , approved on December 10, 2024 via the International Development Association (IDA) .
This support, the second phase of a development policy support program, aims to structurally transform the economy and improve living conditions, particularly in rural areas.

Sustainable agriculture: modernizing and securing land rights for farmers.
Access to energy: promotion of renewable energies for accumulated electrification of rural areas.
Climate action: building resilience to environmental challenges.
Human capital and social protection: from education to support for vulnerable populations.
Inclusive social component
The project includes support for victims of gender-based violence, affirming an inclusive and equitable approach.
Fily Sissoko, the World Bank's representative in Togo, praised the country's advances in sustainable agriculture and climate and social resilience. This financing will help to reduce extreme poverty in rural areas and strengthen economic progress towards a more sustainable and inclusive future.
