Togo postpones its first senatorial elections

The senatorial elections, initially scheduled for February 2, 2025, are postponed to a later date.

This postponement, decided by the Council of Ministers after consultation with CENI, is in response to a request by the Cadre Permanent de Concertation (CPC) to give political players more time.

The new timetable will be announced shortly. These elections, a first in the country, will elect 41 senators in 39 prefectures.
