In 2024, Togo's fisheries production stood at 23,776 tonnes, down slightly on the 24,229 tonnes recorded in 2023.
The Maritime region retains its leading position with 15,013 tonnes, followed by Plateaux (6979 tonnes), Savanes (889 tonnes), Kara (600 tonnes), Lomé Commune (217 tonnes) and Centrale (78 tonnes).
Despite this decline, the outlook for 2025 is optimistic, with production expected to reach 25,266 tonnes. This increase will be underpinned by the implementation of strategic initiatives, including a plan to develop the fish industry by 2028 and a national strategy for the sustainable development of fishing and aquaculture.
