On Friday February 7, Germain DOUBIDJI, President of the Association Journalistes pour la Critique Littéraire et d'Art au Togo (JCLA-Togo) and Publishing Director of the InterFaxPress and Jeunesse Info media, was honored as the 2025 winner of the "ART TO GO" Journalistic Star Award. This distinction was awarded by the Comité d'Organisation des Résidences Internationales de Créations Artistiques et Culturelles (Les RICAC).
The Étoile Journalistique "ART TO GO" award highlights the passionate commitment of a journalist or media organization to promoting visual artists and visual arts activities through their publications. Germain DOUBIDJI's recognition by the RICAC is well deserved.
Well-known in the Togolese artistic and literary world, Germain DOUBIDJI sees this distinction as a call to intensify his efforts. "It is with great humility that I receive this prize, which is in fact an encouragement to continue our mission in favor of plastic art and plastic artists in our country. It is essential to communicate more about our visual artists and their work," he declared.
The creation of the JCLA-Togo association and the commitment of the media he heads are part of this desire to promote art. "We will continue with passion to contemplate works of art and to echo them," added Germain DOUBIDJI, urging visual artists to strive for excellence.
Passionate about the arts and literature since his teens, Germain DOUBIDJI founded the "Club les Amis de la plume" in 2002, while still in high school. Today, he is one of the most influential journalists in artistic and literary circles in Togo.
