Togo is resolutely pursuing its efforts to improve the educational environment. Between 2023 and 2024, a total of 1,526 classrooms were commissioned in the country's five regions, illustrating the government's ongoing commitment to investment in school infrastructure.
These data, extracted from Citizen Budget 2025published by the Ministry in charge of primary and secondary education, reveal significant progress. By 2023, 1,051 classrooms had been built, while the following year saw the construction of a further 475 classrooms, divided into blocks of three and four units. The Savanes region stands out as the main beneficiary of this program, with 685 classrooms built over the period.
For 2025, the executive intends to maintain this momentum. The project calls for the construction of 597 new classrooms, organized into 66 blocks of four classrooms and 111 blocks of three, for an estimated investment of over 7 billion CFA francs.
This proactive policy is part of a broader effort to strengthen the national education system. Since 2020, the budget allocated to education has increased by more than 50 %, reflecting the priority given to this strategic sector for the country's development.
