Togo is preparing to commemorate the 51st anniversary of the Sarakawa bombing, with a rich program of commemorative activities and exchanges.
In a press release dated January 22, the Minister of Territorial Administration presented details of the planned events.
In Kara, on January 23, 2025, a public conference will be held at 4pm at the Palais des Congrès, on the theme of "The Sarakawa attack and its impact on the economic fabric".
The following day, the President of the Republic will visit the Infectious Diseases Center at 8:30 am, followed by the inauguration of the Dogta Lafiè Hospital at 9 am.
On January 24, at 3:37 pm, the President will lay wreaths at the Sarakawa mausoleum, while in Lomé, a similar ceremony will take place at Place des Martyrs. In the regional capitals, the governors will also lay wreaths at the same time.
