Togo: Colonel Guy Kossi Gbèzondé Akpovi reappointed to head the FTF for a 3rd term.

The ordinary elective congress of the Togolese Football Federation took place this Saturday, February 3, 2024, at the Hôtel 2 février in LOMÉ.

Without any suspense, the "Nouvel Elan" list of outgoing president Akpovi Guy, the only candidate, won.

Colonel Guy Akpovi is set for another 4-year term at the head of the Togolese Football Federation (FTF)! After a first mandate from 2016 to 2020, from 2020 to 2024, the current FTF boss will consolidate his position and redirect his body until 2028.

A vote by acclamation

Colonel Akpovi Guy was re-elected to his post at the ordinary elective congress held this Saturday in Lomé. Alone since the withdrawal of Amouzou Têtê's candidacy, the "Sauvons le soccer togolais" list benefited from the renewed confidence of FTF members. In accordance with the texts of Togolese soccer's governing body, President Guy Akpovi and his team were re-elected by acclamation.

For the next 4 years, the elected members intend to focus on nine (09) key projects, including developing soccer at grassroots level; developing soccer medicine and players' health; developing sports infrastructures; switching to professional and amateur soccer and so on...

"During our first two terms of office, we succeeded in establishing a modern administration within the federation. Thanks to the leadership and dedication of the executive committee, we have been able to structure the various functions and responsibilities within the umbrella body to improve the efficiency and transparency of its operations", said Guy Akpovi in his welcome address to the ordinary elective congress.

"We are convinced that our third mandate will be just as fruitful and will maximize our impact on the development of national soccer," he added.
