A major new advance in the digitization of public services in Togo. Togolese citizens will soon be able to apply for and obtain their certificate of nationality directly online. This innovative initiative, orchestrated by the Ministry of Justice and Legislation, marks a key step in the modernization of public administration.
Currently in its final phase, the project is seeing the active training of agents from the Nationality and Seal Department in the use of digital tools. This stage, piloted by Agence Togo Digital, aims to ensure effective appropriation of the technologies before the official launch of the online service.
This transformation is not a first. As early as January 2023, procedures for obtaining a duplicate certificate of nationality had been dematerialized, with the result that administrative procedures have become significantly faster and more efficient.
The initiative is part of the Togolese government's wider ambition to digitalize 75 % of administrative services by 2025. A vision that reflects the country's commitment to modern administration.
