"BATIR is not a satellite party of any other party", stated BATIR's leading figures on April 23. The BATIR party, engaged in the 2024 legislative and regional elections, is the target of a political smear campaign whose sole aim is to tarnish the party's fundamental and intrinsic principles.
At a press dinner last Wednesday, the party's Executive Board, led by the founding president, clarified its position. "After five years in existence, the BATIR political party remains true to its principles. It has its own ideology and vision, positioning itself as a third way outside the political bipolarity that has characterized Togo for over thirty years. BATIR remains true to itself. It is not a satellite party of another party.
We are not a commercial faction of any political party", introduced Atsou Ayao, board member and election candidate. As an example, "There were two voices on the political spectrum: one demanding power and the other saying 'I'm not moving'. Meanwhile, development waits. In this spirit, BATIR represents a third voice that is not obsessed with power, but rather focused on the essentials, namely development", added Kini Efoé, also a member and candidate of the party.
According to BATIR's founding president, Vicenzia Meyer, "BATIR stands alongside the population, outside our country's political cleavages. We advocate development and the promotion of youth, and we wish to remain at the side of the population for the peaceful transformation of Togo. BATIR remains faithful to its objective, that of the well-being of Togo, placing the human being, the Togolese, at the heart of its concerns", she emphasized.
For this double ballot, BATIR is putting forward 81 candidates in six electoral districts, namely Agoè-Nyivé, Golfe, Avé, Zio, Danyi and Lacs.
We wish them the best of luck in this double vote!
