Togo is making significant progress in the field of education, according to data unveiled at a workshop for the presentation of the results of the fifth General Census of Population and Housing (RGPH-5) and the second Harmonized Survey of Household Living Conditions (EHCVM-2).
Dr Sandra Ablamba Johnson, Minister and Secretary General of the Presidency, pointed out that the gross primary school enrolment rate now stands at 114 %, reflecting strong demand for basic education. At the same time, the Gender Parity Index in primary education shows near-equality between girls and boys, a sign of progress in educational equity.

These positive results are attributed to programs such as the Projet d'Amélioration de la Qualité et de l'Équité de l'Education de Base (PAQEEB) , which has strengthened access to education and improved the quality of teaching . These efforts are part of the government's strategy to build an inclusive, high-performance education system capable of meeting the challenges of national development.
These advances mark an important step towards the goal of universal and equitable education, helping to make Togo a model for literacy in West Africa.
