Togo takes a new step forward in its decentralization policy with the launch of an e-learning platform dedicated to local authorities.
Announced on March 26 by the Minister of Territorial Administration, Hodabalo Awaté, this initiative aims to enhance the skills of elected representatives and municipal staff through online training tailored to the challenges of local governance.
Supported by German development cooperation through GIZ, the platform offers modules covering key topics such as financial management, local development planning and the organization of municipal services. Accessible to all, it enables local players to learn at their own pace and enhance their expertise in an interactive setting.
According to Denyo Komi Dodzi, Director of the Agence nationale de formation des collectivités territoriales (ANFCT), this new tool complements the face-to-face training courses already on offer, and facilitates access to continuous learning. With this initiative, the Togolese government aims to improve transparency and efficiency in the management of local authorities.
