Last Thursday, the Minister of Economy and Finance, Essowè Georges Barcola, inaugurated the Comité Régional de Concertation de la Kara, a strategic initiative designed to boost dialogue between the public and private sectors in Togo.
Designed as a pilot project, the committee's mission is to foster local economic development by identifying and overcoming obstacles to investment, while supporting local businesses.
The launch is part of a wider drive by the Togolese authorities to improve the business environment and attract more investment, consolidating Togo's position as a preferred destination for investors.
Minister Barcola underlined the importance of this initiative, which demonstrates the trust placed in local players in the country's economic transformation.
Speakers also discussed the challenges of the government's Roadmap, in particular increasing the contribution of private investment to growth.
They called for a stronger culture of dialogue and collaboration to make this committee a model for other regions.
