The Togolese government is strengthening its commitment to vocational training with the opening of a new Institut de Formation en Alternance pour le Développement (IFAD) dedicated to aquaculture in Agomé-Glozou, in the commune of Bas-Mono 1.
On March 7, 2025, Minister Noupokou Dammipi, at the head of a presidential delegation, officially received the deed of donation of a 37-hectare site offered by 68 landowners. This gesture marks a significant step forward in the development of the country's fishing industry and agricultural industrialization.
The IFAD Aquaculture d'Agomé-Glozou is part of a national strategy to strengthen the skills of young people, increase fish farming productivity and boost the local economy. At the ceremony, the donors expressed their pride in contributing to a project that will create jobs and opportunities. For his part, Minister Dammipi hailed this show of solidarity and affirmed the government's determination to speed up the start of work.
This future training center will join the four IFADs already in operation across the country and the forthcoming Avetonou institute, consolidating Togo's ambition to structure its agricultural and fisheries sector in the long term.
