A tragic accident occurred on February 8, 2025 in Togblé, on national road no. 1. A loose container broke loose from a titan truck, crushing a young man and injuring two others.
In the face of this tragedy, the Martin Luther King Movement (MMLK) expresses its indignation and points the finger at the authorities' inaction in terms of road safety.
The organization is calling for an independent inquiry to establish who was responsible, and for strict controls on the transport of heavy goods.
The MMLK also calls for urgent reform of transport standards, severe penalties for non-compliance and support for the families of the victims.
"The time for speeches is over, it's time for action", the movement insists, reaffirming its commitment to the safety of Togolese citizens.
