The Togolese government plans to spend 4 billion FCFA in 2025 to compensate those expropriated from the social housing project in Kpomé.
The project involves the construction of 20,000 affordable housing units on a 1,177-hectare site.
The majority of compensation payments have already been made, with the exception of a few disputed areas.
The project is divided into three phases: feasibility studies (technical, market and impact analyses), preparatory work (site demarcation and signage) and, finally, construction of the housing units, scheduled to begin shortly.
The project will be carried out by a real estate company in partnership with Shelter Afrique.
