In a strong gesture for the development of national soccer, the Togolese Federation de Football (FTF) announced in a media interview the award of financial subsidies to first- and second-division clubs.
This financial support is aimed at boosting the competitiveness of teams and consolidating the professionalization of soccer in Togo. Each club in the first division (D1) will receive an envelope of 15 million FCFA, split between 10 million provided by the State and 5 million from the FTF's own funds. Second division (D2) clubs will receive 8 million FCFA, of which 5 million will also come from the state and 3 million from the federation.
These funds, seen as a real breath of fresh air, will enable clubs to improve their preparations for the coming season. The aim is to provide them with the means to better structure their infrastructures, attract talent and strengthen their workforce to raise the level of the championship.
FTF General Secretary Hervé Tété Agbodan was keen to reassure the clubs. He confirmed that the transfers relating to the federal part have already been made, while the administrative procedures for the state subsidies are underway and should be completed shortly.
Beyond this financial support, the FTF reaffirms its ambition to further professionalize the Togolese championship. With initiatives aimed at establishing a solid legal framework and increasing investment, the federation aspires to make national soccer more successful on the continental stage.
Greetings are now turned to December 15, the official start date of the first division championship. The clubs, strengthened by this aid, are stepping up their preparations to offer fans a season that lives up to expectations.
