This week, Togo is the center of attention on the continent when it comes to artificial intelligence. Since Tuesday, the country has been hosting the 1st edition of Artificial Intelligence Week (SIA 2024).
The event, jointly organized by the Conseil International de l'Intelligence Artificielle ( CONIA) and Human AI, under the aegis of the Caisse Nationale de Sécurité Sociale du Togo( CNSS -Togo) and placed under the High Patronage of the President of the Togolese Republic, H.E.M. Faure E. GNASSINGBÉ, opened this Tuesday, June 04, 2024 at the Hôtel 2 février in Lomé.

Under the theme: "AI IN TOGO AND AFRICA: STATE OF PLAY, OPPORTUNITIES AND SOCIAL CHALLENGES", The event, which brought together a number of key players, experts and enthusiasts from all over Africa, was officially launched by Mrs. Yawa Kouigan, Minister of Communication and Media, Government Spokesperson, representing the Head of State, His Excellency Faure Gnassingbé.



Over five days, key players and experts will be raising awareness of AI advances and applications among the general public, students, decision-makers and institutions, and facilitating understanding of AI through interactive workshops, informative conferences and practical demonstrations.

In his opening remarks, Jérôme RIBEIRO, President and Founder of Human AI, said: "Through this meeting in Lomé, we are going to cultivate artificial intelligence. We're going to raise awareness of artificial intelligence, remove your fears and give you hope for a future where you can take control of your destiny.

In officially launching the proceedings, Ms. Yawa Kouigan invited participants to take full advantage of the knowledge shared during this AI week. "I invite you to be diligent and open-minded, especially for our young technology enthusiasts. Make the most of all the knowledge that will be shared during the conferences, exhibitions and etc...", she hammered.

1st panel of the day

The first panel of the day focused on the regularization of AI. This first session was attended by a number of key players, experts and enthusiasts in the rapidly expanding field of AI.
