With the senatorial elections just a few days away, Unir party activists and supporters in the Ogou prefecture met on February 8, 2025 to fine-tune their electoral strategy.
This meeting served as a reminder of the issues involved in control, the role of the Senate in the 5ᵉ Republic and the importance of this first formation of the upper house in Togo.
Minister Yawa Kouigan underlined the historic significance of this vote. Candidates were introduced and campaign guidelines were set out for the ballot, which will result in the appointment of 61 senators, 41 of whom will be elected and 20 appointed.
