Several electoral observation missions have been in Senegal for a few days now for the presidential election, the first round of which is scheduled for this Sunday under a spotlight of 7.3 million voters.
The Africa Solidarité Institute (IAS), which is part of all the international legal instruments designed to ensure independent and professional observation, and which has adopted a code of conduct, is also taking part in this presidential election in Senegal.
Led by its Executive Chairman Mr. BELEM Oumar Thomson, the mission comprises 20 election observers from ten ECOWAS members. The mission is supported by a technical supervision and coordination team made up of senior executives and the Africa Solidarité (IAS) institute for sustainable democracy in Africa.
The aim of the observation mission is to accompany Senegal, one of the member countries, and contribute to the consolidation and anchoring of democracy in West Africa.
The mission will observe the presidential election, at the end of which it will issue a preliminary statement, followed by a final report.
The Institut Africa Solidarité (IAS) is a pan-African organization dedicated to sustainable development, humanitarian action, strengthening the electoral framework, conflict resolution and election observation - electoral consulting and training.
