From September 25 to October 07, Abidjan will host the 1st Maracana World Cup, "Mara'monde 2024", at the Palais des Sports in Treichville.
The tournament hosts Côte d'Ivoire are in Pool A, along with Gabon, Cameroon and Belgium. Pool B features Benin, Guinea, France and Jamaica. Pool C features Togo, Burkina Faso, Senegal and Guinea Bissau. Pool D will feature Mali, Canada, the USA and Brazil.
Togo's first match will be against Guinea Bissau on September 28, 2024. In a press conference held last Friday, the executive committee of the Togolese Maracana Federation unveiled the team's preparations for this first-ever competition.
The 1st vice-president of the Togolese Maracana Federation (FETOMA), Bertrand Massegbe, said he was reassured by the Togolese representatives' state of mind, and that Togo were confident of winning the trophy.
