In Togo, from January 08 to 10, 2025, thehe second edition of the Sokodé International Horse Festival, on capital of the Tchaoudjo prefecture in the center of the country.
For this purpose, a good number of riders from Togo, but also from the sub-region will be making the trip to Togo's second-largest city, and 6,000 visitors are expected for this new cultural event, which aims to highlight a long-standing equestrian tradition in the region.
The information was given at a press conference held on November 14, 2024, in Lomé and attended by the festival's organizers.
A festival to celebrate equestrian heritage in Sokodé
This year's second edition of the Tchaoudjo Equestrian Festival will be distinguished by the organization of a public conference dedicated to the future of riders. This unique event will bring together riders from Togo and elsewhere, as well as teacher-researchers.
Ms Ouro-Adoï Farrida, promoter of the event, underlined the historical importance of the Tchaoudjo prefecture as a land of horsemen. "It is essential to promote this rich tradition and support riders so that they can make a dignified living from their passion," she said.
She also launched an appeal to all riders in the sub-region and to the general public to take part in this unique celebration, which will take place on the site of the disused Sokodé airfield. An unmissable event for horse lovers.
