Fictitious investments: Ministry of Finance warns of online scam

The Togolese Ministry of Economy and Finance is warning of a new online scam circulating on social networks.

Fraudulent messages attributed alleged online investment sessions to the Ministry, which the institution formally denied in a press release published on June 2, 2025.

Describing these publications as a "crude attempt at fraud", the Ministry points out that its communications go through official channels only.

It calls on the public to be vigilant, and warns that the perpetrators of these messages will be prosecuted in accordance with the law. This is not the first time that the Ministry has been targeted by this type of fraudulent maneuver.
