Togo is preparing to introduce a new German textbook, "Und jetzt Wir" , in secondary schools, replacing "Ihr und Wir" , which has been in use for several years.
This reform, steered by a technical commission of German teachers, aims to harmonize the teaching of the language and adapt it to African socio-cultural realities.
Supported by the Ministry of Secondary Education and the Goethe-Institut , the initiative guarantees pedagogical consistency from Seconde to Terminale, in line with the program in force since 2022. According to DPIP Director Koffi Séna Agbozoh, this modernization represents a major step forward for Togolese students.
By reinforcing learners' language skills, this reform aims to improve their command of German and foster better academic and professional prospects.
