After the meeting in Mali, Ghanaian President John Dramani Mahama landed in Niamey on Sunday March 09, 2025, marking a key stage in his diplomatic tour of the Alliance of Sahel States (AES).
Welcomed with honors at the Presidential Pavilion of Diori Hamani International Airport by Niger's Head of State, Brigadier General Abdourahamane Tiani, Mahama received a warm welcome in the presence of several high dignitaries, including Niger's Prime Minister and members of the CNSP.

This official visit aims to strengthen bilateral relations between Ghana and Niger, with a particular focus on economic, security and cultural cooperation. Beyond diplomatic ties, discussions between the two Heads of State will focus on regional challenges, in particular the stability of the Sahel.
President Mahama's tour of the ESA continued on Monday March 10 in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, where he concluded a series of strategic meetings designed to consolidate regional unity in the face of common challenges.
