On March 27, 2025, in Lomé, President Faure Essozimna Gnassingbé welcomed Antonio Tete, Angola's Minister of External Relations, bearing a message from President João Lourenço, current Chairman of the Conference of Heads of State of the African Union (AU).

Discussions highlighted the strong cooperative relations between Togo and Angola, and the prospects for strengthening them. The talks also addressed the challenges of peace and stability on the continent, underlining the key role of the Togolese President in the search for peaceful solutions.

Antonio Tete emphasized the importance of regional cooperation, pointing out that the Angolan President relies on his peers, notably Togo, to meet the African challenges of reconciliation and peace.
