Togo entered the Davis Cup Group I play-offs with disappointing results in New Delhi.
Liova Ayité Ajavon was beaten 6-2, 6-1 by Mukund Sasikumar after 1h14 of play.
Meanwhile, Togo's number one Thomas Setodji suffered a heavy defeat at the hands of Ramkumar Ramanathan, losing 6-0, 6-2 in just 49 minutes.
These two setbacks leave Togo in a tricky position, and the team will need to respond in their next match if they are to reverse the trend.
