The draw for the African Nations Championship (CHAN) 2025 will take place on January 15 in Nairobi, Kenya. Eighteen teams will take part in this tournament co-organized by Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania, which will also host the CAN 2029. The CHAN, originally scheduled for 2024, will be held from February 1 to 28, 2025.

A number of notable absentees marked this edition, with countries such as Algeria, Egypt, Tunisia and Libya choosing not to participate despite qualifying. Morocco is the only representative from North Africa. Senegal, defending champion, as well as two-time winners DRC and newcomers Central Africa, will be present.

The draw, scheduled for January 15 at 8:00 pm (local time), will take place at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre in Nairobi. Here are the likely hats:

Group 1: Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Morocco, Senegal
Group 2: Guinea, Zambia, Madagascar, Rwanda, Sudan
Group 3: Mauritania, Niger, Congo, Angola, Burkina Faso, Nigeria, Central African Republic, DRC
