The draw for the TotalEnergies African Nations Championship (CHAN) 2024, which took place on Wednesday January 15 in Nairobi, Kenya, revealed some promising pools for a tournament to be played in August 2025.
Hosts Kenya find themselves in a formidable Group A, with two-time champions Morocco, DR Congo, also two-time winners, Angola and Zambia. Group B hosts Tanzania face Madagascar, Mauritania, Burkina Faso and the Central African Republic. For their part, Uganda, seeded in Group C, will meet Niger, Guinea and two teams from the qualifiers.
Defending champions Senegal dominate Group D, alongside Congo, Sudan and Nigeria.

This CHAN, organized for the first time in East Africa since 2016, highlights local talent playing exclusively in their national leagues, a concept unique to the continent.
