ECOWAS has given compulsory notice of the termination of the contracts of 135 civil servants from Mali, Niger and Burkina Faso, as a direct consequence of the withdrawal of these countries from the sub-regional organization, effective January 29, 2025.
Despite the absence of negotiations, these employees receive compensation in line with current regulations.
Their departure, scheduled for September 30, marks a new stage in the rift between the Alliance of Sahel States (AES) and ECOWAS.
