The city of Atakpamé, Togo, inaugurated a series of territorial marketing workshops on January 30, 2025, in collaboration with the Ministry of Industry and Investment Promotion (MIPI) and GIZ. This initiative aims to increase the economic attractiveness of the regions and diversify investment beyond the capital, Lomé.
Atakpamé, nicknamed "the city of seven hills", is highlighting its fertile land and potential in agriculture, crafts and ecotourism to attract investors. Priority sectors identified include agricultural processing, hospitality and infrastructure, with the aim of making Togo's regions engines of economic development.
Minister Manuella Santos also visited Benart Afrique, a textile company in Datcha, underlining the importance of the commitment of public and private players in boosting the attractiveness of Atakpamé and other Togolese towns. This initiative will continue in other pilot towns such as Kpalimé, Blitta, Kara and Aného.
