Madame Yawa Kouigan, Minister of Communication, Media and Culture, met on Monday March 10, 2025 with Madame Coumba Sow, Resident Coordinator of the United Nations System in Togo. The meeting highlighted the excellent cooperation between Togo and UN agencies, particularly in the field of information and communication.
Madame Coumba Sow hailed the country's advances in governance and gender equality, citing the recent parity appointment of Senate members as a significant step forward. She also stressed the importance of effective communication to support public policies and combat misinformation.

Reaffirming the support of the United Nations, the diplomat expressed the willingness of her institution to support Togo in modernizing its media sector, notably through artificial intelligence. For her part, the Minister insisted on the need to equip information professionals with tools adapted to technological developments, while consolidating a responsible and dynamic media space.

This meeting testifies to the shared desire of Togo and the United Nations to work together for transparent and inclusive communication, in the service of sustainable development.
