TCHALIM Essohounamondom will be Togo's torchbearer at the 13th All-Africa Games Accra 2024. At a ceremony organized by the Ministry of Sports, on the instructions of the President of the Togolese Republic, Mr. TCHALIM received the flag from the hands of the Minister of Sports, making him the standard-bearer for Togolese athletes in Ghana.
With just a few days to go before the start of the All-Africa Games scheduled from March 8 to 23, the Minister of Sport, Dr Lidi Bessi Kama, presided over the flag ceremony for the 69 Togolese athletes who will represent our country in 10 disciplines on Friday March 1, 2024, in the large conference room of the Kegué stadium.

And it was in the presence of the presidents of the federations and the 14 coaches due to take part in these Games that the head of Sports, Dr Lidi Bessi Kama, presented the flag to TCHALIM Essohounamondom.
The Minister took the opportunity to thank the President of the Republic, His Excellency Faure Gnassingbé, for his "personal involvement and the resources made available to the Togolese delegation".

Addressing the athletes, he reminded them to behave like "good fathers" in and out of the arena, remaining attached to the values of sacrifice, honor, dignity and above all respect for the national colors, as recommended in the charter of good conduct.
"The country has entrusted you with a great responsibility. The nation trusts you and is watching you. Don't let us down," declared Dr Lidi Bessi Kama, before declaring: "Get your shirt wet. Put in the organs".
And then to conclude with: "You carry the hopes of an entire people thirsting for medals that only your prowess can enable you to win. Stay focused on your goal, which is to reach the top step of the podium, if not the grail. Your tenacity and fearlessness will help you get there.
The first delegation leaves Lomé for Accra this Friday, March 1, 2024.
