In Togo, the Autorité de Régulation des Communications Electroniques et des Postes (ARCEP) has introduced a unique code, *801#, enabling telecommunications customers to easily deactivate or reactivate advertising messages.
The initiative, launched on January 29, is in response to frequent complaints about the effectiveness of existing systems.
Accessible free of charge and common to both mobile operators, this code aims to strengthen consumer rights in the face of unsolicited commercial messages.
