Robert Dussey, Minister of Foreign AffairsThe Minister for Regional Integration and the Togolese Abroad, has been working since Monday December 9, 2024, an official visit to Cuba. The trip, his third to the Caribbean island, is part of the International Conference on the Decade of People of African Descent, a major event taking place in Havana.

In addition to his participation in the meeting, this mission represents a strategic opportunity to strengthen bilateral relations between Lomé and Havana. Several subjects of common interest will be addressed, notably in the fields of economic and cultural cooperation. On Monday evening, the Togolese Minister was received by Salvador Valdés Mesa, Cuban Vice-President, to whom he delivered a message from the President of the Togolese Republic.

Diplomatic ties between Togo and Cuba, established 45 years ago, have undergone significant development, extending to key sectors such as health, culture and training. This visit illustrates the determination of both nations to further consolidate a historic and mutually beneficial partnership.
