As part of the 19th Foire Internationale de Lomé, Friday November 29, 2024 was marked by a special celebration dedicated to the Port Autonome de Lomé (PAL). Under the theme "Recent reforms of the Port Autonome de Lomé for greater competitiveness", this day was an opportunity to highlight the major transformations that have propelled the Port Autonome de Lomé to a new level of competitiveness. PAL's position as a key player in the Togolese and sub-regional economy.

Mr. Noulengbe Yawo, representing the General Manager of PAL, opened the day by highlighting the port's ongoing efforts to adapt to the demands of international trade. "This day dedicated to the Port Autonome de Lomé is an opportunity to reaffirm our determination to provide quality services and actively participate in the economic development of our country and the sub-region. The chosen theme reflects our ambition to meet global challenges through strategic reforms that strengthen our competitiveness", he declared with conviction.

PAL's Commercial Director, Mr. Derman Abdoul Razak, underlined the vital role played by the port not only for the Togolese economy, but also for hinterland countries such as Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger. "Since its creation, the Port Autonome de Lomé has established itself as a pillar of national economic development and sub-regional integration, by facilitating trade with landlocked countries," he explained.

These ambitious and strategic reforms will enable PAL to consolidate its position as a driver of development for Togo and beyond. The modernization of infrastructures, the integration of new technologies and the continuous improvement of services are positioning the port as an undisputed leader in maritime transport in West Africa.

Since its inauguration on April 26, 1968, the Port Autonome de Lomé has established itself as a major lever for the region's economic development. A long-standing partner of the Centre Togolais des Expositions et Foires (CETEF), PAL faithfully supports its customers, including at the Foire Internationale de Lomé. Strategically positioned on the Gulf of Guinea, it remains a key player in the blue economy and regional trade.

By pursuing its reforms and modernization, the Port Autonome de Lomé confirms its status as a catalyst for economic growth. PAL invites its partners and customers to continue working together for a common dynamic of growth and excellence, thus consolidating its leading role in the Togolese and sub-regional economy.
