Since February 4, 2024, Togo has joined the top five tennis countries in the world, following its victory over Indonesia in the Davis Cup Zone 2, which took place on February 3 and 4, 2024 on the tennis courts of the Omnisports Stadium in Lomé, which has been renovated to ITF standards thanks to the efforts of the President of the Togolese Tennis Federation, Mr. Ahialey Clément and his team.
The Togolese tennis players dominated Indonesia, three wins to two, in the World Group 2 playoffs after 4 matches played over two days, including 2 singles matches on Saturday February 3 and 3 matches (including 1 doubles and 2 singles).
After an absence of more than 20 years, Togo is back on the world tennis scene with a remarkable progression, the fruit of a revival of the discipline undertaken by the national federation, which is betting heavily on training with the creation of a training center in Lomé.
The Centre école tennis de Lomé has established itself as the cradle of Togo's future champions. With a program focused on intensive training, this center dedicated to children offers an environment conducive to their development.
At a time when the Tennis School Center in Lomé is booming, a Davis Cup victory confirms that Togo is writing a new chapter in its tennis history.
