Nibombé Daré's colts faced Equatorial Guinea on the second day of the CAN 2025 qualifiers, and were forced to settle for a hard-fought 2-2 draw in Malabo on Monday September 09, 2024.
Things got off to a good start in Malabo when Luis Asué headed in a corner in the 16th minute, but the Éperviers equalised just before half-time when ES Tunis midfielder Roger Aholou also headed in.
With chances aplenty, the Nzalang Nacional scored again in the 75th minute through Buyla's shot from the edge of the area, but the Togo hawks responded in stoppage time through Fodoh Laba, the AI Ain striker from the Emirates, again with a header from a corner.
Pending Liberia's match against Algeria, to be played this Tuesday at 16:00 GMT, Togo are in second place with two points, just behind Algeria, who can extend their lead if they beat Liberia.
