On Saturday December 28, 2024, the Togolese National Police celebrated the promotion of 43 second lieutenants to the rank of police officers. This solemn ceremony, held at the École Supérieure des Forces de Sécurité (ESFOS), was presided over by the Minister of Security and Civil Protection, Ambassador Calixte Batossie Madjoulba, in the presence of several members of the government and various civil, military and customary authorities.

The event also brought together partners of the national police force, as well as the families and loved ones of the recipients, including two women, symbolizing diversity and inclusion in this prestigious elite corps.
Rigorous training to serve the nation
After nearly twelve months of intensive training, combining police and military disciplines, these new officers declare themselves ready to serve the nation with loyalty and professionalism.

Commissaire Divisionnaire de Police Bolenga Minpame, Acting Director General of ESFOS, recalled that the training focused on key areas such as judicial policing, intelligence, criminal law, respect for human rights, as well as ethics and loyalty to republican institutions.
"These officers are now seasoned and highly qualified to meet the diverse missions of the National Police," he said.
Continued presidential support
The Director General of the National Police, Akatao Babarime, underlined the unfailing support of the President of the Republic, Faure Essozimna Gnassingbé, in strengthening the country's security capabilities.

Named Commissaire Divisionnaire de Police Sankoutcha Bagnanyala Promotion, with Commissaire Divisionnaire de Police Awa Yawo as godfather, this cohort illustrates the ongoing commitment to strengthening the command corps.
New impetus for the French National Police
This initiative is helping to rebalance the personnel pyramid within the National Police, and strengthen its ability to respond to security challenges. The new officers, aware of their responsibilities, embody a renewal of the institution, with service and dedication to the Togolese nation as their motto.
